Prayer Update

Dear friends,

This is an exciting time of year at the seminary as students anticipate graduation in March. The Philippine Baptist Theological Seminary is anticipating 211 graduates from both their residential and extension programs. Several doctoral graduates are also on the horizon for the Asia Baptist Graduate Theological Seminary, so this means Flint spends a lot of time reading and evaluating dissertations. Debbie continues to minister to seminary wives through a Monday night Bible Study, and to Moms at Brent International School through Mom’s In Touch on Wednesdays. She is also serving on the team of Dignidad, a ministry that rescues women from prostitution and helps them cross-over to other livelihood. All of this is happening in the midst of trying to wind down, bring closure, and prepare to leave for the States in June. Please pray for us in the following ways.

1. Strength and wisdom as we serve as teachers and administrators in this final school term at the seminary. We praise God for the opportunity to minister here, and see him work in the lives of young leaders from across Asia. These are the generation who will carry the gospel throughout Asia where many of the world’s unreached live.

2. Blessings upon Dignidad as it continues to develop its ministry to prostitutes. This is a young ministry but even still they have rescued 5 women from prostitution in Baguio and perhaps 10 more in a province nearby. Ministry to them is to be like Jesus who ministered to the least of these.

3. Courage, strength and joy for Ben and Chris as they finish up their experience at Brent School International. This year has not been easy. They are the only white American kids in upper school. The school is now mostly Filipinos and Koreans, most of them from non-Christian homes and Buddhist backgrounds. Their lifestyle and attitude can really bring Ben and Chris down sometimes. Pray that they know the Lord’s strength and are able to be a positive witness in different ways.

4. Pray for our return home in June. We are returning home for home assignment and then a leave of absence. We are not sure how long we’ll be back, but we feel that returning so that Ben can finish 11th and 12th grades in the States is the right thing to do. For some time, Flint has been applying for Missions teaching position at colleges and seminaries across the U.S. So far, no positive result. We are also open to ministry within the local church. Please pray that the right doors will open for either teaching or local church ministry. We are trusting that God will provide the right opportunity at the right time.

Blessings to all of you. Serving as your missionaries is definitely a partnership. We can’t serve here without your support in so many different ways – through your friendship, your financial support, and through your powerful prayers!

Many, many, thanks

Flint and Debbie
