In the Strength of the Risen Christ

Dear Family and Friends,

2005 has been a blur. We have spoken in churches in Georgia, Alabama, Indiana, and Texas. It has been a wonderful time of meeting new brothers and sisters in Christ and sharing about the work we are doing in Thailand.

On April 3rd, we will be leaving the States on our way back to Chiang Mai, Thailand. We will arrive there in time to prepare for the new school year which begins on June 1st. Pat will continue to teach English courses. In addition to my church history courses, I am being asked to teach a new course; The Use of the Old Testament in Preaching and Worship. It will be for our seniors in the B.A. program.

I am certain that we will also have responsibilities for helping our students with their weekend church assignments. We are excited about working with them again in this way.

As we leave we want to leave you with some prayer requests:

Pray for our new Missionary Partnership Team. They are six wonderful American Baptists in West Virginia. Pray that they will be effective in promoting missions and that they would be blessed for having volunteered to do this.

Pray for our readjustment to Thailand and our work there. We have been gone for a full year and expect that there will be several changes.

Pray that we will be effective in our desire to help our students grow spiritually and academically – or in spirit and in truth.

We can return to Thailand for many reasons. American Baptists and others have continued to support our work. We love the people of Thailand and our school. But most of all, we can return because Jesus lives. It is in the strength of the risen Christ that we return. May our presence there increase the light of Christ in Thailand and the rest of Southeast Asia.

May the blessings of the Easter Season be yours all year through.
