Dr. J.M. Ngul Khan Pau, General Secretary of the Council of Baptist Churches in North East India, Guwahati, Assam writes:

We are deeply shocked about the outbreak of terrorists gruesome killing in Mumbai; the Council of Baptist Churches would like to convey its heartfelt condolences to the families of those who have lost their lives in these barbaric attacks. We appeal that we need to pray fervently for those whose hearts are broken over the lost of their loved ones and for those more than 350 who are injured.

We appeal to the politicians of our country not to point fingers of blaming one another and trying, trying to extract political mileage out of these tragedies. If these attacks cause us to turn on each other in hatred and conflict, the terrorists will have won. It is their diabolic plan to divide the country with hatred and chaos. Disrupting the society is the way to pull down the civil societies and destabilize the economy. As the Nation is paying tributes to the heroes arm forces who have laid down their lives, I am reminded of the TV news headline, "They gave their lives so that Mumbai can live on."
