Dear Family and Friends,

It is with genuine sadness that I write this letter to inform you of our resignation from International Ministries effective March 31, 2009. Part of the sadness stems from the fact that we are leaving a warm and caring organization which has a philosophy of missions that is soundly biblical and Christ-like. Another element in our sadness is losing our connections with many of you who have been our supporters financially, with words of encouragement, and by prayer. We will especially miss being with our ‘new’ American Baptist friends in West Virginia, Indiana, and elsewhere.

We believe that God will honor the decision we have made. It has been made in large part due to family considerations. I will be taking a pastorate in Bunkie, Louisiana the first of May. Pat expects to return to teaching in her vocation of special education. Pray for us as we begin this new direction in our walk with God.

We will be returning to Thailand for about three weeks beginning the middle of March. We will be making goodbyes and getting our goods ready for shipping. LaMon will also be attending the annual student work camp – laying one more church foundation.

We will be writing one last newsletter after our return to lift up names of persons we will be praying for and hope that you will join us in that endeavor.

Before closing this letter, we want to thank Lynne and Mark Stauffer for their friendship and invaluable help in our Missionary Partnership Team. We also want to encourage all of you to continue your support of International Ministries. I know of no other organization whose mission philosophy and ecumenical approach to missions matches IM’s. American Baptist should be rightly proud of the work done by IM and its missionaries. Now is not the time to cut back on mission giving. It is the time to increase it!

Remember the words of Paul: “We walk by faith, not by sight.” It is by these words that we go to Bunkie, Louisiana. And we hope it is by these words that you renew your commitment to supporting the wonderful ministries of IM.
