Daniel and Estela
Daniel and Estela write: We are deeply saddened by the fact that, following eight years in Nassau, our ministry is coming to an end. About a month ago, in consultation with International Ministries, we decided to return from missionary service in the Bahamas. While a number of factors have led to this decision, the key reason is that Dan is no longer teaching at Atlantic College. While it is difficult for us to leave this ministry, we do so with the knowledge that one of the most important things we as missionaries can do is step aside and allow gifted and qualified local leaders take over our work.
As we look back on the past eight years of ministry, we have much to be thankful for. When we first arrived in the Bahamas we came with the understanding that God was already here and that we would simply join him in his work. Now that we are leaving, we are encouraged by the fact that God will remain and continue to raise up others and work through them. We are privileged to have had the opportunity to share in the ministry here, even if just for a few short years.
o what's next? We will be returning to Denver on March 17 to begin a six-month home assignment. Our objectives during that time are twofold. First, we will be exploring new overseas ministry opportunities with IM as well as possible cross-cultural ministry opportunities in the States. Secondly, we will spend as much time as possible building up our network of supporting churches.
Please remember to pray for :
- The ministries we are leaving behind and the leaders who have assumed our responsibilities.
- The myriad of details we must attend to as we prepare for an international move.
- Discernment and direction as we explore future ministry opportunities.
