God Delivers in His Time

Several months ago we had been visiting a bar named Goldfinger. The atmosphere was very oppressive so we prayed intensely even when in the bar. The Mamasan didn't like having us there and was cranky. She scolded one of the girls who was visiting with us. The next week one of our staff who had also been spoken to rudely was reluctant to return to that bar but we felt that was where we should go. The mamasan wasn't very happy to see us back but the girls were very responsive. I decided to go a step a further in spiritual warfare and we paid the bar fee for three girls who were interested in leaving and took them up to Rahab to check us out. All the girls were interested but none of them made a decision to leave yet.

Soon after, I was praying with a staff member and she said she had a vision of the outreach team in an intense battle with a bar across the street that had gold columns. I knew it was Goldfinger. She said that God was going to give us one girl from that bar. I was excited. Strangely though, we didn't feel led to go back the next week, or the next and then it was a couple months. In the meantime we had all these great deliverances within Rahab. I began to wonder though about the vision.

Last week, one of the girls from Goldfinger, Nai, came up to Rahab and said she really wanted out but was still hesitant because of a large debt. The other two girls from Goldfinger had left the bar for different work. That Saturday, my coworker took Nai to an evangelism crusade and she accepted Christ. Then she went back to work.  Monday we had a day of fasting and prayer for Rahab and we prayed for Nai as well. Tuesday, Nai came to Rahab again with a friend Ning from another bar. They had tears in their eyes as they shared they couldn't take it any more and they had both made the decision to leave the bar and to come into Rahab. Our new housemother went with them to collect their belonging and both girls were settled into Rahab's shelter.

God gave his word and fulfilled His promise in His timing. Please pray for Nai, Ning (names have been changed to protect them) and one more girl who wants to come but has not been able to yet. These first few months are difficult as they adjust to less money, and a totally different lifestyle. They will need a lot of counsel and love as well as structure and it can be discouraging for a while. Pray that they will have the inner strength from God to stick it out and that they will be able to rest in God's grace and enjoy His unconditional love.

In His service,
