Easter greetings from Nightlight
by Annie DieselbergHappy Easter from all of us at NightLight!
"The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me. Because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners and recovery of sight to the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion - to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of His splendor. They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated. Aliens will shepherd your flocks; foreigners will work your fields and vineyards. And you will be called priests of the Lord, you will be named ministers of our God."
- Isaiah 61
A Holy Priesthood
NightLight church has been restructured. The women, under the guidance of Jeff and Pon, have elected the leaders for their church. Last night's Good Friday service was the first worship service the women planned and led. They shared a simple meal of unleavened bread, humus, and spinach leaves and watched a scene of Jesus sharing his last meal with the disciples and washing their feet. The women leaders washed the feet of all who attended. It was moving to see the passion and humility in these leaders as they washed the feet of women younger than them and newer in faith. While the women serve easily, it goes against the cultural traditions for those who are older to kneel in front of the younger.
After watching a scene from "The Passion" of Jesus' death, the women shared communion. They emotionally and tearfully read scriptures that told of the sacrifice Christ made for us. Their worship was well-planned and they sang passionately.
These women, once "prisoners of darkness" are now "a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God that they may declare the praises of Him who called them out of darkness into His wonderful light." 1 Peter 2:9 These women are now ministers of the Lord. They now preach the good news and bring healing to the sick and broken-hearted.
"For the Splendor of the Lord"
"T" came to us three years ago so broken-hearted and filled with shame that she wouldn't stand straight in our presence. We were always trying to lift her up from a posture of bondage. After Jesus appeared to her in a vision, "T" accepted Christ. God has gifted her in visionary gifts and words of knowledge. We have found her gifts to be so helpful in deliverance ministry. She is given very clear insight as to the demonic strongholds that are binding the women. Her humility and gifting has earned the trust of the other women. "T" is growing in leadership and it is amazing to see how God has blessed her and is using her to bring freedom and healing to others.
This past week one of our non-believers was in a lot of pain. She was crying and wanted to go to the hospital. I called for "T" to assist and we prayed for the young woman. Afterwards she looked surprised as she moved around pain free. She told us she had been afraid to receive prayer but now having experienced it was not scary at all. She went on to the doctor and the doctor said that there was a change in her physically. When she came to work the next day she thanked us because the pain was gone. "T" immediately responded, "Thank God. God is the one who healed you."
We see a lot of healing and deliverance at NightLight. The child-like faith of the women makes it easy for miracles to happen. Last week we had a group of women visiting who ministered in gifts of healing. A lot of women received physical healing, some were delivered from evil spirits and more two women accepted Christ.
Praise God, for the women God has released from darkness. They are now part of His kingdom, planted for the splendor of the Lord. Those who wore garments of despair are now wearing garments of praise. Praise God!
Thank you for your prayers and support!
May God bless you abundantly and clothe you in His garments of praise.
Sincerely,
Annie Dieselberg
