Each year, an estimated seven million children under the age of five die from simple illnesses like diarrhea. The remedy for common ailments is easily accessible in the United States, but in other parts of the world, medicine and medical care are scarce. This same shortage in the majority of the world also plays a significant part in the cause of the epidemic related to HIV/AIDS, which destroys families when parents die and their children are orphaned. International Ministries medical missionaries, including doctors, nurses, therapists and preventive healthcare workers, combine their medical expertise and Christian values with the skills of national healthcare workers to make the hands of Christ, the Great Physician, a reality in the 21st century.
