We thank the Lord for all your love and support. This July Christina and I attended the Global Baptist Peace Conference in Cali, Colombia.

One of the greatest things we took home is information about the historic peace dialogue between the Colombian government and the rebel group “FARC” in 2016. We heard moving testimonies from the former rebels and Government representatives. One of the female panelists lost her husband who was killed by the FARC rebels. It was touching to see one of the FARC leaders apologizing publicly in front of us for the death of this woman’s husband.

The whole program was full of different experiences from different parts of the world, including worship, workshops, cultural activities and Colombian cultural and historical experiences. Our eyes were opened and Trees of Peace Africa became more determined to do more for peace.

In May of this year, Ildeophonse Niyokind from Burundi and I led a conflict transformation training in Uganda for young peace warriors. The participants were from organizations in Uganda and Burundi. We were so inspired to see the love and desire for peace and justice as different issues emerged. The youths went on to train others and practice peace building.

Pray for Zimbabwe…we are battling with days of no electricity and water. Trees of Peace Africa is currently campaigning for sustainable provision of solar panels to marginalized members of our community.

Again, thank you for your support!
