Emerging Leaders

At International Ministries (IM), we strive to educate, encourage, and empower emerging leaders for a lifelong journey of being God’s salt and light around the globe. The Emerging Leaders initiative focuses on developing youth and young adults from 16 to 29 years old who come from a variety of denominations and backgrounds. We want to walk alongside you as you prepare to serve others in a meaningful way.

HOW DO WE ACCOMPANY EMERGING LEADERS?

Your journey as an emerging leader can take one of two different paths:

  1. Emerging Leaders’ Cohorts

These cohorts are divided into two age groups: Connectors (16 to 20 years old) and Trailblazers (21 to 29 years old). Each cohort will include no more than twelve participants. [Hear from some of our recent Emerging Leaders who attended Urbana ’22.] Cohorts will run on a two-year cycle that will include

  • Yearly retreats
  • Bimonthly meetings
  • Attending conferences
  • Prayer partners
  • Short-term mission experiences
  • Sharing written reflections

  1. Short-Term Mission Volunteers

International Ministries’ Short-Term Mission office works with volunteers, missionaries (which IM refers to as “global servants”), and IM’s international partners to sponsor year-round short-term mission opportunities. These virtual or in-person trips and service opportunities are open to individuals, pairs, or groups. Trips can last between ten days and two years.

Cross-cultural short-term mission opportunities include teaching, community development, assisting with health assessments, peacemaking webinars, building schools, and much more.
