Please note that due to low levels of commitment, this trip has been cancelled. If you are interested in this or other short-term missions opportunities, please contact the Short-Term Missions department at volunteers@internationalministries.org.

Emily Ferrin, Assistant Director of Short-Term Missions at International Ministries, is passionate about developing youth and young adults, and conserving the environment. This June, those interests will intersect, as Emily leads a small group of young adults to Costa Rica on a three-week creation care intensive.

During this unique experience, trip participants will have opportunity to interact with Costa Rican brothers and sisters and IM partners and missionaries as they enter into dialogue and practice concerning creation care. A debriefing experience at the close of this trip will include a retreat and presentation opportunity during the World Mission Conference held at Green Lake Conference Center in Wisconsin.

Today’s current events seem incomplete without topics including climate change or environmental sustainability. However, the Church is often missing from open conversations about this topic that should be central to Christian practice and teaching. (See Genesis 1:26, where God declares His intent for humankind to steward His creation.) It is this realization that serves as impetus for the Costa Rica Young Adult Experience in the summer of 2018.

Should you or someone you know have interest in this experience, open to individuals aged 19-29, please contact Emily Ferrin at 610-768-2245 or eferrin@internationalministries.org. Space is limited, and the last date to apply is Sunday, April 15, so please contact today. See the attached flyer for full details.
