The Short-Term Mission staff traveled to Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island recently. It was the first opportunity in sixteen months for Minister Nicole Cox and I to travel, meet with pastors, deacons, lay leaders, global servants. It was a blessing to share all that God had been doing since June 2020 through our desk at IM in Kingdom building. It was an opportunity for Minister Nicole Cox to present on the new initiative for youth and young adults, Emerging Leaders.

During the five days on the road, we offered two special unique moments for the Home Office staff and Special Assistants to STM, to join “live.” We stopped at the First Baptist Church in America in Providence (RI) also known as the First Baptist Meetinghouse. It is the oldest Baptist congregation in the United States founded by Roger Williams in 1638. What a delight to walk historical grounds with colleagues joining via zoom, from other states! Bringing history alive on our ipad was a special moment for all of us.

Another special moment where we offered a “live” experience was when we visited two global servants in Taunton (MA). We broke bread with Ketly & Rev. Vital Pierre and were joined via zoom by a couple of Special Assistants to STM, who were delighted to see us all together in one room. Prayers were lifted up to God and affirmation of calls strengthened.

Minister Nicole Cox and I launched the “OTR with STM” (On The Road with Short-Term Mission) which will be kept alive whenever one of us is able to travel in-person or whenever one of the Special Assistants is able to lead a team on a cross-cultural short-term mission trip. Staying connected virtually is a life line on the mission field. Thank you for making it a reality with your continued support of our ministry.
