Pray
Posted on May 23, 2018 Pray for Dan Buttry, Global Consultant for Peace and Justice, facing health challenges and helping equip believers to resolve conflicts and meet needs all over the world.

Dan works with International Ministries missionaries and national church partners around the world to deal constructively with conflict situations. These conflicts may be social and political conflicts within a country, or they may be conflicts within the national church bodies that negatively impact Christian witness. Dan trains church and community leaders in conflict transformation skills, utilizing experiential education methodologies and Bible study. He consults with church leaders about conflicts plaguing them, and in some situations, he participates in mediation teams between conflicted parties. Dan also explores ways for people interested in conflict transformation to accompany him and develop training and facilitation skills alongside him.

He recently shared this news and prayer requests – I’ve got some tough news.  Back in 2009 I had prostate cancer.  I had surgery to remove the prostate and have been doing great.  Until now.  I’m feeling fine, but recently blood work raised a concern.  Further tests showed the cancer is in some of my bones.

So…..we’re doing some more exhaustive tests and will start some treatments.  I’m not sure what all this will mean.  Some of it sounds daunting, some encouraging.  I’ll need to be flexible about a lot of things.

Meanwhile, I am going to Nicaragua on an emergency training trip at the invitation of Laura and David Parajon to help the AMOS staff deal with their inner conflicts related to the political crisis in the country as well as help them figure out ways to help their communities come together for the specific shared health concerns (like Zika virus).

Of course, your prayers are deeply appreciated.
