Katie and Taku Longkumer commissioned for service in NE India

August 24, 2011 News

Taku and Katie Longkumer, American Baptist International Ministries  newest development workers, were commissioned Sunday, August 21st at Central Baptist Church in Springfield, IL.  "This was a powerful service of dedication and commissioning of our MPT & ourselves in ministry," commented Katie. They will be serving in North East India focusing on theological education beginning in October 2011.

"We know that God is already weaving IM and Baptists from North East India together into a new cloth of mission," commented Reid Trulson, executive director of American Baptist International Ministries. "While the size and pattern of this new cloth are not yet visible, we are able to see some of the threads on God’s “mission loom.” Katie and Taku Longkumer, their MPT and Missionary Partnership Network along with members of the IM staff are some of those threads. The Longkumers’ commissioning for service in North East India is another step in the weaving of this cloth. We thank the Lord for IM President Ruth Clark, the IM Directors, Pastor Reg Mills,  Dr. Dwight Stinnett, and all who took part in the commissioning service at Central Baptist Church of Springfield, IL."
