Or should I say our partners in Law Enforcement?

... because it would be a Crime not to share what God has given to us with others!

We are delighted to announce that Ryan and Shannon Potter are moving to Vanga!

Ryan is a medical research scientist and an award-winning soccer player. What can God be thinking to send someone with those skills to rural, nontechnical, barely-has-electricity Congo?!? As it turns out, God knows what is needed. The family practice residents in Vanga must do a research project their fourth year of training. What a blessing to have someone well versed in the practical process of medical research, statistics, and paper publication for our residents.

But what about the soccer part? Two years ago when we first went to Vanga, Brother Thomas was getting ready to move back to Switzerland. He had been working with the youth in Vanga for three years, and he was praying earnestly that God would send someone to continue the work with the youth. Guess what kids in Congo like to do more than anything? Play soccer! No doubt Ryan is an answer to Brother Thomas' prayer.

Ryan's wife, Shannon, is a newly trained OB-GYN doctor who will be coming to Vanga to provide leadership and training in obstetrics and gynecology, especially in fistula repair. She has been given a number of teaching awards and was identified as a “rising star” for her enthusiasm, initiative and expertise in OB/GYN. We are thrilled God has called this “rising star” to serve in Vanga.

Ryan and Shannon are the proud parents of Sydney Claire, born October 14, 2013. What a sensation she will be at Vanga! There's nothing like a baby to break down cultural barriers!

The Potters are sponsored by World Medical Missions, a division of Samaritan's Purse for 2 years. We welcome the whole Potter family to Vanga! Pray for them as they transition into a new season of life.

Your financial support of Tim and Kathy Rice will help them be available to mentor the Potters in Vanga.  www.bit.ly/donatetotheworkinCongo.
