“And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Philipians 4:7

A lot has changed since we wrote our last journal in November, but joy and peace remain a constant in our lives.  We returned to the United States in January so I (Ketly) could begin receiving treatments for breast cancer at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston.  We have felt such an outpouring of love and support since arriving in Massachusetts!  Doctors, nurses, and technicians have been examples of God’s healing touch. Christian brothers and sisters associated with TABCOM (The American Baptist Churches of Massachusetts) have been God’s hands and feet offering us a place to live and a car to drive. AND people all over the world have been God’s voice as they have called to share their love and concern and prayers.  We are filled with gratitude because of God’s love expressed through God’s children.  THANK YOU!  Vital, also, has been a constant reminder of God’s presence, and it is good to see him begin to relax after all the “go, go, going” in the D.R.

News of interest and concern:

*Vital’s mother died in February, and we would appreciate your prayers as we grieve her death.

* The Community Center is still distributing food to those in need thanks to the generous contributions of many.

*Bryan and Lynette Smith have settled in and are making a  wonderful difference at the community center.

*The paperwork to buy the land surrounding the community center is almost finalized which is something to celebrate!

*Volunteers are still a needed presence in the Dominican Republic.  Your eyes and ears make us more aware of needs that should be met.   We encourage you to come and help.

We are now on U.S./Puerto Rico Assignment with International Ministries, and we will be available for speaking engagements via Zoom or other social media platforms beginning April 1.  We would love to share with you about our work in La Romana, and we look forward to participating with you in small groups, Bible Studies, mission meetings, worship services — you name it!  To schedule a time for us to share and interact, please contact Susan Brown at indiabrowns@yahoo.com ,  269-203-7411 (landline), or 989-948-8428 (cell/text).

Our address for now is 220 Ocean View Ave., Swansea, MA 02777.

Thank you for your love and prayers!
