Wati and Arenla Longkumer joining the India Mission Coordination Committee on April 1, 2022 marks a milestone development of the Baptist mission movement which was ignited in the India Mission Summit in 2014. Wati and Arenla bring with them strong vision and rich ministry experience including their last service with the India Missions Association, which is the largest mission organization in India supported by more than 280 church and mission organizations, and IMA coordinates the support of more than 5,000 Indian missionaries. Taku and Katie Longkumer, IM Regional Consultants for Economic and Community Development in Southern Asia, share their excitement, “Arenla and Wati have their roots back to the Nagaland Missions Movement. We see God is using them in a tremendous way nationally and globally.” Arenla joyfully shares, “It is a great privilege and honor to be a part of IMCC team. I look forward to working together for the extension of God’s Kingdom”, and Wati shares, “I thank God for leading me to minister amongst the Baptist family and thank you all for your warm message of welcome and support. I come with the with deep sense of understanding that not our human wisdom – which is inadequate anyway – but the Spirit of God will is ‘with us, will ‘help, strengthen us and uphold us with his right hand’ (Isa 41:10) as we embark on this journey of empowering the Baptist churches for greater involvement in missions.”

I invite you to read the IMCC announcement, and pray for Wati and Arenla and their team, as they launch missionary training and global strategic cooperation.
