GoalInternational Ministries seeks to raise $85,000 for the 13 hospitals that are part of the Congolese Baptist Community
SummaryThis White Cross project seeks to raise $85,000 to purchase and provide medications, vitamins, hospital supplies and training for nurses for the 10 hospitals that are part of the Congolese Baptist Community (CBCO).
DescriptionImagine bringing your child to the doctor and, after receiving a diagnosis of acute appendicitis, being given a prescription for sutures, gauze, a scalpel, anesthetics and antibiotics and told to “hurry and find a place to buy them in town” so the doctor could perform an emergency surgery. People face such dilemmas every day in the Congo, where there is no such thing as health insurance. Everything must be purchased up front or brought by the patient—including sheets and supplies.
It is anticipated that this project will improve the overall level of medical care given to those who seek treatment at each of the CBCO hospitals.
Suggested Gifts$5,000 - Scrub sets for 13 hospitals for a 2 year cycle
$1,000 - Overland transport from the container’s point of arrival to one Baptist Hospital
$500 - Training of new nurses
$250 - Medical supplies for hospitals and clinics
$100 - Medications and vitamins
Prayer RequestsPray with Katherine Niles and her partners in the Congo that medical needs will be met and the sick will be cared for regardless of their means
Pray that the care given in these hospitals will reflect Jesus’ concern for the poor and the ill
