GoalThe goal of this project is to assist indigenous leaders in starting new Baptist churches in Eastern Europe, the Middle East and in Central Asia.
SummaryThis project seeks to raise $34,118 by 2025, to support five church planters and incorporate development projects with each of their congregations
DescriptionThere is an urgent need for Baptist faith and witness in former Soviet communist states. The ministry of Baptist congregations is to evangelize and disciple, and improve the status of marginalized people groups within the wider society. The purpose of the project is to assist IM's international partners provide ministry support for the church planters and their families, and to assist with making the congregations financially viable for ongoing ministry. This project will be managed by the Rev. Daniel Trusiewicz, partnerships coordinator for the European Baptist Federation Mission Partnership (EBF MP). During the past nineteen years (2002-2021), the EBF MP and cooperating partners have supported over two hundred church planters in twenty-six countries across post-communist Eastern Europe, the Baltic Nations, the Caucasus and Central Asia, and amongst Arabic-speaking peoples in the Middle East. These countries include Albania, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Croatia, Estonia, Georgia, Hungary, Israel and the West Bank, Iraq, Jordan, Latvia, Lebanon, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova (where the first church planters served), Norway, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Tajikistan, Turkey, and Ukraine. Thanks to their work, more than ten thousand persons have become members of newly planted congregations! In 2021, the EBF is supporting forty indigenous church planters serving in twenty-four different countries.
Suggested Gifts$120 provides transportation for a month for a church planter. $300 will pay for one month of food for a church planter and family. $7,200 will offset one year of expenses for a church planter; a $600/month recurring gift.
