Dear Friends of IM:

May is International Ministries’ anniversary month. This year marks IM’s 206th year of global mission, made possible by the generosity and support of people like you.

We invite you to celebrate IM’s anniversary by participating in #GivingTuesdayNOW on May 5, 2020 – a global day of giving and unity, a day for people around the world to come together and give back in response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19 – and by giving to IM’s general fund during the month of May.

The COVID-19 pandemic is expected to hit charitable and nonprofit organizations like IM especially hard. IM has seen a dramatic decline in gifts during this crisis and has taken steps to cancel events and cut expenditures. But these measures are not enough to make up for the giving shortfall. Without your help, IM could be facing a financial crisis that impairs our ability to pursue God’s mission.

I know this is a challenging financial time for many of us. I am reaching out to you now because of your generous giving in the past. Since its founding in 1814, IM has weathered its share of national and global crises – the Great Depression and the World Wars, for example – and many regional and local crises where IM missionaries live and serve. Each time, God has carried us through by moving people to give sacrificially so that IM missionaries could stay in the field and continue the work to which they have been called.

IM needs to raise $700,000 for its general fund by September in order to cover its operational costs this fiscal year. We will not be able to reach that amount without an additional gift from you. Would you please consider sending in a gift of $50, $100, or even $5,000 before May 30, during IM’s anniversary month? Your generosity now will allow us to maintain our level of support services for our missionaries and weather this current crisis.

Keep watch in June for the monthly giving match.

IM global servants are also feeling the impact of the COVID-19 crisis, especially those who are not yet at 100% of pledged support.

In June, IM will launch a matching fundraiser for MONTHLY RECURRING GIVING for global servant support. Our development and fundraising staff are diligently working to raise a match pool for this effort. We will announce the amount in the matching pool in June, after the May giving for the general fund comes to a close.
