GoalThe goal of this project is to provide scholarships for ethnic minority children at the House of Blessing in Thailand.
SummaryThis project seeks to raise $3,530 annually to help children living in poverty to remain in school.
DescriptionThe House of Blessing (HOB) is an early childhood education center that serves ethnic minority children living in poverty in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The HOB program promotes the intellectual, physical, social, emotional and spiritual growth of each child. After finishing HOB’s three-year preschool, the children are ready for first grade in a Thai public school. But there are fees and costs for uniforms, books and supplies that are a barrier for their families. A modest scholarship enables the children to get an education, which makes it possible to find meaningful jobs so they can work to break the cycle of poverty. Currently, 95% of HOB graduates are in school, including two at university and two that just graduated. This project will be managed by missionary Mark Juanes and the staff of the HOB. It is anticipated that this project will enable children to remain in school until their education is complete, improve literacy levels and empower them to find meaningful employment to improve their standard of living. The project’s total cost is $10,588 for three years, or $3,530 per year.
Suggested Gifts$50 provides one scholarship for a school uniform, books and lunch.
Prayer RequestsPray that support of this project will make it possible for these children to stay in school and have a better future.
