GoalSeeing to raise $4,500 in three years; $1,500 a year to provide scholarships for 30 children who are graduates of the House of Blessing (HOB) in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
SummaryScholarships will enable the ethnic minority children served by the HOB to continue their educations in Thai public schools.
DescriptionThe House of Blessing (HOB) is an early childhood education center that serves the hill tribe children living in the slums of Chiang Mai, Thailand. The HOB program promotes the physical, social, emotional and spiritual growth of each child. Once a child graduates from the program, he or she is ready for first grade in a Thai public school. While tuition is free in Thai schools, there are other fees and costs that become a barrier preventing a child from continuing in school. With a modest amount of money to help parents, children are empowered to pursue their education, working to break the cycle of poverty. Currently, 92% of HOB graduates are in school, and one has even started university. This project will be managed by missionary Kim Brown and the staff of the HOB. It is anticipated that this project will enable children to remain in school until their education is complete.
Suggested Gifts$50 provides one scholarship for uniform, books and lunch
Prayer RequestsPray with Kim Brown and the HOB staff in Thailand that adequate scholarship funding will enable these children to stay in school and have a better future
