DescriptionThe Chaurajahari Hospital is a 60 bed facility in Western Nepal that is operated by the Human Development & Community Services (HDCS). Using mobile medical camps, HDCS could provide free medical care and health education to thousands of people who would have to walk for hours or days to get medical help. Many patients have never seen a doctor in their remote villages. These camps will assess village health, provide pre-natal care, and health education on sanitation and hygiene. This project will build strong relationships between the villages and HDCS while sharing the message of the Gospel and making God’s love known. The goal of this project is to increase and insure accessibility to health services, to reduce the risks of pregnancy and childbirth while addressing factors related to mother and child mortality, and providing free medical care through camps that go to the remote villages. Long term, this project will reduce the spread of communicable diseases like tuberculosis, typhoid and diarrhea, and address preventable conditions like malnutrition, pneumonia, worms and anemia. The project cost is $52,941 for three years, or $17,647 per year. Funds will provide medicine and medical supplies, cover the cost of patient examinations and lab tests, as well as providing the food and transportation for medical teams to get the camps. Support for this project will also cover the cost of training materials for health education and village health assessments including evaluating literacy rates and sanitation practices. Patients will experience God’s love through this project.
Suggested Gifts$100 provides immunizations, medications and counseling for patients. $250 provides vital laboratory testing and medical supplies. $500 pays for urgently needed emergency care.
